Yves-Laurent Kom Samo, Ph.D.

Dr. Kom Samo began his career in finance as a Quant Trader, first at Goldman Sachs, then at J.P. Morgan.
He then moved on to completing a Ph.D. in Machine Learning at the University of Oxford, where he was a full scholar of the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance. His Ph.D. research was awarded the prestigious Google Ph.D. Fellowship in Machine Learning in 2016. He is the main author of several publications in top-tier peer-reviewed Machine Learning journal and conferences (e.g. JMLR, ICML, UAI).
Yves-Laurent served as a reviewer for several journals in the areas of Machine Learning and Stochastic Analysis, and as a thesis supervisor at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Oxford.
Dr. Kom Samo was trained as an Applied Mathematician in France, first in the competitive 'Classe Préparatoires' curriculum, then at the 'Grande Ecole' Telecom ParisTech, where he got a Master degree with a focus on Applied Mathematics, and finally at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Oxford where he got a second Master degree in Mathematical Finance.
